Scene in a Movie – ANIMATED Genre

Scene in a Movie asked AI to name film and movie genre’s (Crime, Comedy, etc) and topics or common elements (about cats, dogs, racing) and then we asked for both a “good scene” and a “bad scene” from the movies they chose in that genre or topic.

Toy Story 3 (2010)

Good Scene: The emotional moment of saying goodbye as Andy leaves for college.

Potential Critique: Some may argue that the film relies heavily on nostalgia.

Finding Nemo (2003)

Good Scene: The breathtaking underwater visuals and the journey across the ocean.

Potential Critique: The film’s pace may be slow for some viewers.

Shrek (2001)

Good Scene: Shrek and Donkey’s journey and the film’s subversion of fairy-tale tropes.

Potential Critique: Some may find the humor dated or reliant on pop culture references.

Coco (2017)

Good Scene: Miguel’s journey in the Land of the Dead and the celebration of Mexican culture.

Potential Critique: The film’s plot has similarities to other stories, like “The Book of Life.”

Wall-E (2008)

Good Scene: Wall-E and EVE’s romance and the exploration of environmental themes.

Potential Critique: The lack of dialogue in the first half may be challenging for some.

Ratatouille (2007)

Good Scene: Remy’s culinary talents and the message about following one’s passion.

Potential Critique: Some may find the premise of a rat cooking in a restaurant unrealistic.

Up (2009)

Potential Critique: The film’s adventurous second half may feel disconnected for some.

The Incredibles (2004)

Good Scene: The superhero family dynamics and action sequences.

Potential Critique: Some may find the film’s message about individuality cliché.

Potential Critique: The surreal and complex narrative may be confusing for some.

Zootopia (2016)

Good Scene: The groundbreaking animation style and the multiverse concept.

Potential Critique: Some may find the fast-paced visuals overwhelming.

Moana (2016)

Good Scene: Moana’s oceanic journey and the celebration of Polynesian culture.

Potential Critique: The formulaic hero’s journey structure may be predictable.

Toy Story 4 (2019)

Good Scene: Woody’s internal conflict and the introduction of new characters.

Potential Critique: The film may be seen as unnecessary after the seemingly conclusive Toy Story 3.

How to Train Your Dragon (2010)

Good Scene: Hiccup’s bond with Toothless and the aerial sequences.

Potential Critique: Some may find the dragon training narrative formulaic.

Kung Fu Panda (2008)

Good Scene: Po’s training and the film’s blend of humor and action.

Potential Critique: The underdog-to-hero story may feel familiar.

Frozen (2013)

Potential Critique: The popularity of the song may overshadow other aspects of the film.

Monsters, Inc. (2001)

Potential Critique: Some may find the plot less intricate compared to other Pixar films.

Shrek 2 (2004)
